
Thursday’s fourth annual Billboard Touring Awards honored several of the top tours and venues of 2007, with The Police named top grossing and top ticket selling tour with their highly anticipated reunion tour. As of September 30, the tour grossed more than $171 million from 53 shows and 1.5 million attendees, and the tour continues through early next year.
Other winners included top package tour going to Kenny Chesney with Sugarland, Pat Green, Brooks & Dunn, and Sara Evans, and breakthrough award to Justin Timberlake. The Download Festival in Britain was awarded top festival, and Madison Square Garden was named top arena.
